Wiener and Kraut 5K Registration Open

Registration has opened for the Wiener and Kraut 5K Walk/Run, presented by the Friends of the Karl Junginger Memorial Library. The female and male winner of the race will be the King and Queen Kraut in the parade at 12pm. All participants will receive a Friends of the Karl Junginger Memorial Library t-shirt and a hot dog voucher donated by the Waterloo Chamber of Commerce. All proceeds will go to the Friends of the KJML. Download the 5K and Kids Kraut Run Registration Form or register online.

WIS 19 Construction

2008 construction guy with colorIn 2017, there will be construction done in the downtown Waterloo area. Below is the timetable for the highway construction. You can find more information on the construction project on the DOT website. An informational meeting was held on May 3. You can find the Powerpoint from that meeting here. If you have questions about the construction, you can contact Matthew Lamb from the DOT at (608) 245-2641.

May 1 – June 4 – Stage 1
Work will occur between Minnetonka Way and the bridge just east of Jackson Street. Complete removals and underground utility work and removal of structure bridge will be after May 15.

June 5 – September 1 – Stage 2
Work will occur between Palmer Street and the bridge just east of Jackson Street. This will include complete construction of underground utilities, grading, base aggregate, curb and gutter, binder asphalt layer and replacement of bridge between Minnetonka Way and Van Buren Street.

September 4 – October 15 – Stage 3
They will complete all remaining items in Stage 2 area and complete the downtown area between bridge and east end of project at bridge

Madison Street (WIS 19) will be closed to through traffic during construction. Through traffic will be detoured using WIS 19 eastbound to WIS 73 southbound to I-94 eastbound to WIS 89 northbound to WIS 19 eastbound. North Monroe Street (WIS 89) will be closed to traffic during construction of the intersection of Madison Street and Monroe Street (WIS 19 & 89) during Stage 3. Traffic will be detoured using WIS 89 northbound to WIS 73 southbound to I-94 eastbound to WIS 89 northbound/southbound.

Access to residents and businesses on Madison Street (WIS 19) will be maintained for local traffic at most times. Businesses are encouraged to review WisDOT’s “In This Together” Program for guidance and best practices for guiding customers to businesses during construction.


Annual Golf Outing

The Annual Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing. Check back later for the date and time for 2017!

Our 2016 golf outing was a great chance to meet other people in the business community. You do not have to be a Chamber member in order to attend. Golfers of all abilities are invited to come and participate. You can create your own foursome2008 golfing wiener with color or we can help you make a group.
